US-based CoSentry is building a US$30m 60,000 sq ft data center in Kansas, Nebraska, extending its network of cloud computing centes in the US.
CoSentry already operates five data center in the US, many of which are in this region. This newest data center will be built to a Tier IV standard.
CoSentry VP and general manager Doug West said the company plans to spend US$20m on construction and another US$10m on IT equipment for the data center that is expected to create 60 jobs in the region.
He said state incentives and strong power and network connections were behind the company’s decision to build in the state.
“Incentives from the state as well as the right power infrastructure from KCP&L will allow CoSentry to build the most redundant, reliable and robust colocation center in the Kansas City metropolitan area,” West said.
